Walking with God. Hearing His voice.
Intimacy with God and developing the prophetic.
About this Video / Audio teaching:
We were created to walk with God; to know Him; to hear His voice. This Sunday at LIFE Mission we continued to explore this topic and operating in the prophetic. We also shared some experiences of Smith Wigglesworth and John G. Lake in regards to intimacy, walking with God, and the importance of learning to recognize and follow God’s voice.
Some points touched on:
Keys to Hearing God’s voice:
- Desire
- Attention and focus
- Expectancy and faith
New Covenant = Relationship / Knowing God
- Heb. 8:11 “… all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them.”
“Words” of prophecy through another — not to replace personal relationship — no mediators except Jesus.
Different functions of an Old Testament Prophet as compared to a New Testament Prophet
Difference between operating in the prophetic and being called to the prophetic office.
ALL can prophesy: (1 Corinthians 14:31) “For you can ALL prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all be encouraged.”
Embodying God’s heart prepares one to deliver a prophetic word in the right way.
Created for fellowship with God: Adam and Eve.
Willingness to do God’s will, a Key to hearing His voice.
(John 10:27) “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”
(Romans 8:14) “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.”
- To be led by the Spirit, we must know His voice.
- The written Word, and the “Live broadcast” as well.
Conversational communication with God, no matter what you’re doing.
Purpose of Prophesy: To build, encourage, and exhort.
Spiritual senses.
Gifts of the Spirit.
